A Sealy ISD School Bus was in the final steps of dropping off children when it was involved in an accident. The accident took place on Hwy 36 heading towards Bellville just before Keaton Cattle.

Sealy Quiet Zone Not In Compliance, BNSF Issues Order To Start Sounding Horns
The City of Sealy has put out a notice to the public that BNSF Railroad will resume sounding their horns at crossings. This was due to a recent Railway Safety Inspection that showed that Sealy’s Quiet Zone was not in compliance with the required distance between the crossing arm and street.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony honoring the life of Peggy Spradley was held on April 3, 2022 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. Peggy was a dedicated member of the Austin County Community whose tireless work in the Sealy Chamber of Commerce and the Sealy American Legion Post 442 was an inspiration for all and her presence will be greatly missed.

Webber construction spoke to the Sealy City Council and gave them an update on the progress of the I-10 construction. They expect to be finished with the entire project by the end of July with a total of 135 days left on the project.

I-10 Construction Traffic Changes Happening March 24th In Sealy
The Sealy Police Department put out a public notice of traffic changes happening for I-10 in Sealy on March 24th.
IH-10 SH 36 Overpass Will Be Closed February 28th For Demolition
SH 36 north and south bound traffic will be closed beneath the IH-10 SH 36 Overpass the night of February 28th to allow for the demolition of the existing overpass. A detour will be implemented Monday night beginning at approximately 7:00 PM and will be in effect until Tuesday morning ending at approximately 5:00 AM.
