The Sealy Community Foundation announced that Sealybration 2020 has been cancelled. The notice was released on their Facebook Page. Citing the recent move by the governor to restrict bars and restaurants and outdoor gatherings as well as consultation with city officials as their reasoning.
The Facebook Announcement read:
To our Sealybration Family,
The Sealy Community Foundation has put a lot of thought and prayer into what we should do regarding our 12th Annual Sealybration. After meeting with City of Sealy officials and reviewing the recent order from Governor Abbott, we are saddened to announce the cancellation of Sealybration 2020.
Please know that this decision did not come lightly, but we feel it is necessary for the well being of all involved. We will be back next year. We love what we do too much to stop now! Until then, we are praying for for everyone’s health and safety.
Stay safe and God bless,
Sealy Community Foundation Board of Directors

The move by the foundation follows a trend that is sure to put a damper on many of the outdoor celebrations that were planned moving into the month of July.
