The 2023 Sealy PD KidsFish event took place on May 6th, and it was a great success. This yearly event is put on by the Sealy Police Department to give kids and their families a chance to enjoy the sport of fishing. Approximately 250 children and parents took part in the event at the Mark A Chapman B&PW Park located at 1008 Main Street Sealy, TX.

The event was full of fun and excitement as children and their parents fished together. The Sealy PD KidsFish event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a morning of fishing. The police officers volunteered their time to make the event happen, and Sealy Public Works made sure the pond was in good shape.

The event had ground rules for the kids, including that kids age 12 and under are eligible to win prizes. No more than two fishing poles per kid were allowed, and no fish would count unless caught during event hours. Kids had to be supervised by an adult, and pictures taken during the event would be posted on the Sealy Police Department’s Facebook page. When a fish was caught, it needed to be immediately brought to the tent to be measured.

Prizes were awarded every hour for the smallest and biggest fish caught. There was also a prize pack for the overall largest and smallest fish caught at the end of the event. The prizes were made possible by the sponsors who donated giveaway items, including Sparklight Internet, C&C Golden Insurance, and Ajshe Sadiku. The Sealy Police Department thanks all the sponsors, businesses, and individuals who dug into their pockets to make the event possible.

The Sealy PD KidsFish event is an excellent opportunity for kids to experience the joys of fishing while having fun with police officers and their families. It is also a great way for the community to come together and enjoy a morning of fishing in a safe and controlled environment. The Sealy Police Department looks forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
