Last night, Sealy Police Department’s Patrol unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on IH-10 near the 722 milepost. The stop was made for a traffic violation, but it quickly escalated into a full-blown investigation.
Thanks to the combined efforts of Sealy PD Patrol and the department’s K9 criminal interdiction unit, it was determined that the vehicle’s occupants were transporting illegal narcotics. In total, 609 grams (1.34 pounds) of methamphetamine was found and seized. The male driver and passenger were both arrested on charges of Felony Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1.
During the investigation, Sealy PD’s K9 Apollo was deployed and played a crucial role in the bust. The driver of the vehicle was also found to have an open warrant for his arrest from Bexar County.
The drug bust serves as an example of the police department’s commitment to its duties and responsibilities in preserving the safety and security of the community.
