Many Christians refer to Romans 13 as the understanding that good Christians should submit to lawful authority. Romans 13 reads:
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves… ~ Romans 13 – New International Version (NIV)
But, this begs the question: What of the founding generation of America? Surely that generation was replete with Godly men. So by the Biblical standards, wasn’t the founding generation in defiance of this passage of the Bible?
Pastor JC Hall presents the Biblical teaching on Righteous Resistance to Civil Government. The Bible is replete with examples of the saints carrying on a long tradition of resisting the so-called higher powers when those powers become immoral and corrupt. Though Romans 13 has long been understood to teach a Christian’s submission to lawful authority, a new generation is asserting that such submission applies to lawless and tyrannical authority as well. How could this be true? Find out what the Bible says about that.

She is a disabled veteran of the US Army, a Russian linguist, a mother, a pastor’s wife and a patriot. She now travels the country and teaches the Constitution and the history that gave us our founding documents. KrisAnne Hall does not just teach the Constitution, she lays the foundations that show how reliable and relevant our founding documents are today. She presents the “genealogy” of the Constitution – the 700 year history and five foundational documents that are the very Roots of American Liberty.
