The Region XIV Super Regional between No. 8 Blinn College and Paris Junior College has been rescheduled and relocated.
The best-of-three series to determine the region’s representative in the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series was set to begin May 13 on the Blinn College campus in Brenham, Texas, but several rainouts forced the change. Game 1 had previously been moved to Sunday, and then Monday, but unplayable field conditions and unyielding rain prevented a series kickoff.
The two teams will now begin their series at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, at the Jim Reeves Memorial Baseball Field in Carthage, Texas. The ballpark is home to the Panola College baseball team.
Game two of the super regional series between the Buccaneers and Dragons is set for 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, and game three (if necessary) will be played at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 19.
The series will be broadcast live through TSBN Sports on www.BuccaneersSports.com.
The winner of the series advances to the World Series, which begins Saturday, May 27, at Sam Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 43 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
