***UPDATE 3/28/2017 @ 11:30 AM***

The TCEQ responded to our request for information and stated that the application has not been “officially” withdrawn and that until that happens all projects are assumed to be active and moving forward.

***UPDATE 3/28/2017 @ 11:00 AM*** The TCEQ still has the meeting showing as active on their website. Until that is updated, we have to assume that the meeting is still on.  You can view the TCEQ calendar by going to:  https://www.tceq.texas.gov/agency/hearings/calendar.html

We have a call into the TCEQ and they have stated that they will get back with us shortly.

The TCEQ has released a combined “Notice of Public Meeting and Notice of Application and Preliminary Decision for Municipal Solid Waste Compost Permit” (see below for documentation).  The applied for permit would allow SouthWaste Disposal, LLC the ability to create a composting facility in the Austin County Area.  SouthWaste Disposal applied for a Type V Resource Recovery and Composting Facility permit.  This permit would allow them to process and compost grease trap waste, municipal sewage sludge, septic waste, dairy and food including meat and fish. In addition, the facility will accept for processing bulking material in the form of clean wood.

The facility is proposed to be located in an unincorporated area of Austin County, east of the corporate limits of San Felipe, Texas. It will be near the intersection of Barlett Road and Brazos 10 Lane in Austin County, Texas.

The Public Meeting is to be held: on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 7:00 PM at:

Sealy American Legion Hall
1630 Meyer Street
Sealy, Texas 77474
