The victory kept the Buccaneers’ perfect conference record intact, as they improved to 21-1 overall and 9-0 in Region XIV.
Blinn overcame a slow start, eventually finding some rhythm in the second period to build a 37-25 halftime advantage.
“I thought we came out a little flat to start the first half,” Buccaneers head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “In the second half we played all 11 of our players and they brought us some energy and played hard.”
After taking a 17-11 lead into the second quarter, the Bucs turned a 25-22 edge into its first double-digit lead of the game with an 8-0 run.
Sophomore forward Tiffany Tullis scored on a layup and a free throw during the push, while sophomore guards Jakoriah Long and Crystal Smith added a layup and a 3-pointer, respectively, for a 33-22 lead.
Tullis buried a layup just before the end of the half to put Blinn up 12.
Blinn led 63-37 heading into the fourth quarter.
