BRENHAM, Texas – No. 19 Blinn College volleyball took down Lee College, 3-1, to close out the conference season with a first-place finish on Thursday night in the P.E. Building for Dig Pink Night.
“It feels really good; they worked really hard and I want them to be successful in the best way that they can,” said Kalie Mader, Blinn head coach. “For them to come out tonight and play with some fire, play together, and work hard was nice to see.”
The Buccaneers defeated Lee by the score of 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, and 25-15.
“I thought we executed the ball really well and made really good decisions, so hopefully we continue to do that,” said Mader.
The Buccaneers increased their overall record to 23-6 and finished conference play with a 9-1 record.
The win put Blinn on top of the Region XIV conference standings.
“It felt good; this year we worked hard and played strong,” said Amina Olajuwon, sophomore outside hitter. “We did what we wanted to do which was win first in conference.”
