BRENHAM, Texas – The Blinn College Buccaneers five game win streak came to end when the Navarro College Bulldogs rallied for a 3-2 victory on Saturday in the P.E. Building to conclude the Blinn Tournament.
The Buccaneers lost by the score of 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 14-25, and 21-19 to conclude the Blinn Tournament with a 2-1 record.
“I thought the girls played hard; we just didn’t play consistent enough,” Kalie Mader, Blinn head coach said. “We look forward to next week.”
Blinn took a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-23 victory in the first set, but Navarro was quick to even the match after dishing the Buccaneers a 23-25 loss. The Buccaneers once again led the match 2-0 after claiming a 25-22 victory in the third set, however the Bulldogs came back to even the match with a 25-14 win in the fourth set. Navarro came out on top in a hard fought fifth set to walk away with a 21-19 victory to claim the win.
The Buccaneers overall record dropped to 20-5.
Blinn will look to remain undefeated in the Region XIV conference in an away match on Friday, Oct. 13 against Laredo Community College at 6 p.m.
