The Buccaneers battled to a 25-22, 24-26, 25-19, 25-13 win and improved to 25-6 overall this season and 6-4 in conference play.
“I’m really proud of the girls. Anytime you get a road win in our conference it’s a really good win,” Blinn head coach Terry Gamble said. “I thought we played really hard, and tonight was a good team-effort win.”
Leading the charge offensively for the Buccaneers was NJCAA Division I kills leader and sophomore hitter Kierslynn Wright, who had 19. She now has 449 on the year. Freshman hitters Don’Yah Cosie and Taylor Glendening added 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Freshman hitter LaNeah Lara tallied seven.
Freshman setter Darby Nash distributed 42 set assists. At the service line, Wright had five aces, and Nash along with sophomore libero Ellie Turner and freshman libero Emily Hardee had two apiece.

On defense, Turner recorded 31 digs and continues to lead the nation in that category with 700. Wright finished with 11 digs and Hardee had nine.
The Buccaneers resume their conference season with a road trip at Coastal Bend College at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in Beeville, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
