The 11th-ranked Blinn College volleyball team picked up its 24th sweep of the season with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 Region XIV victory over Lee College on Tuesday in Baytown, Texas.
The Buccaneers improved to 31-3 overall and 10-2 in the region standings.

“I thought our ball control was good with Cierra Pesak and Kirby Kliafas, who did a really nice job,” Blinn head coach Terry Gamble said. “And I thought that our middle blockers Don’Yah Cosie and Brooke Pattschull carried the team offensively tonight.”
Pattschull had nine kills, three solo blocks, and three block assists for the Bucs, while Cosie finished with five kills, a dig, and a block assist. Sophomore outside hitter Jaedyn Newman paced Blinn with 10 kills, while freshman right-side hitter added eight.
Freshman setters Elizabeth Tyner and Chloe Howard dished out 18 and 16 set assists, respectively.

Pesak helped the Bucs’ defensive effort with a team-leading 10 digs, followed by nine for Kliafas.
The Buccaneers are just a half game behind Navarro College (10-1) for first place in the region. Blinn will host the fifth-ranked Bulldogs on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.
Up next, the Bucs host Wharton County Junior College at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 44 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
