The Bellville City Hall was filled with concerned citizens wanting their voices to be heard about a proposed 57.3 Acre sub-division at Hacienda. The resident’s anxiety stems from what they feel are inadequate lot sizes. With the reduced lot sizes came concerns of houses being spaced too close together as well as concerns about additional cars on the street as the reduced lot sizes would not lend themselves to multiple car garages.
You can hear the resident’s concerns starting at the 00:02:20 of the video and going to the 00:12:28 of the video below.
A representative of the division requesting variances spoke to council (00:31:25 to 01:06:00 of the video) The agenda item was a discussion item only so no action was taken. However, council members did say that they felt what the developer was asking was a serious deviance from the lot size ordinance and asked that the developer try to give them alternatives to consider and bring those back to the council at a later date.
The agenda items dealing with the subject were:
10. DISCUSSION OF VARIANCES ON PROPERTIES IDENTIFIED AS 68665, 5994, AND 3817
ATE. HACIENDA
11. CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE CONTROLLING THE PARKING OF
INOPERABLE VEHICLES AND LONG-TERM PARKING ON A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE
AND ANY RELATED ACTION NECESSARY
