Google is working on a new project, Project Soli.  Project Soli is a chip that interprets radar signals to such a fine level that minute gestures of the hand can control many of our everyday tasks.  The incredible part of the technology is its reliability while using no lenses, moving parts or anything; just a chip.  This translates into nothing that can break or need of replacing.  Watch the demo video below for a good overview of the new technology:
