While many of our local athletes take to the football field, cross country tracks, and volleyball courts, a special group of athletes are once again taking to the baseball field. The Miracle League of Austin County Texas kicked off the fall season on Sunday, September 13 under gorgeous sunny skies. Players hailing from Wallis, Sealy, Columbus, Bellville, and Brenham and ranging in age from 6 to 19 years old make up the fall teams.
The ML of ACTX, a special needs baseball league, is made possible by the tireless efforts of the community volunteers that join the players and serve as Buddies on game day. Currently a minimum of 20 volunteers are needed each game day. The Austin County community has given the ML of ACTX tremendous support with 29 volunteers signing up to help with the opening game of the fall season. Many thanks were extended to all of the volunteers for allowing the ML of ACTX to provide this opportunity to the players.
Additional volunteers are always needed and welcome. More information on the ML of ACTX can be found at www.miracleleagueofactx.org or by emailing jessicagordon@miracleleagueofactx .org.
