BAYTOWN, Texas — Blinn College men’s basketball ended the regular season on a high note after defeating Lee College on the road, 78-71 on Saturday afternoon.
“Our guys played very focused, very hard and competed at a high level on the road tonight,” said Scott Schumacher, Blinn head coach.
Tony Lewis tied his season-high record with 24 points, while Antione Lister followed with 13 points, and Markques Houston and Tyrus Grayson each chipped in eight points.
After falling behind 6-0 the Buccaneers hurried to grab a lead in the first quarter which they never surrendered. Blinn led 33-23 at the break.
Although Lee outscored Blinn in the second half 48 to 45, the Buccaneers stayed on top until taking a 78-71 victory.
With the win, the Buccaneers finished the regular season with a 19-11 overall record and 9-10 Region XIV conference record.
Blinn will enter into the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament as the No. 4 seed and play in the semifinals on Thursday, March 8 at 3 p.m. in Jacksonville.
