The recall was initiated after Texas Health & Human Services detected Listeria in a random sample taken from a Texas store. Though only one sample tested positive, the recall is being issued as a precaution.

Health Risks

Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. In pregnant women, Listeria infection can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths.
