Bryan, Texas—Faith Academy Bellville went on the road to defeat Bryan Allen Academy 25-22, 25-21, 25-10 in the Lady Knights’ first non-district game of the season.
While the two teams were locked in a back-and-forth affair in games one and two, FA took control in the third game to finish off the Lady Rams.
“It certainly wasn’t a polished match. There were lots of errors on both sides of the net but we pulled it out,” FA Head Coach Joshua McLain said. “Our serving was a bright spot for us in the match. We had a couple of girls step up and hit zones late in games two and three to limit them from getting anything started.”
The Lady Knights will host Lake Jackson Brazosport Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Beth Keaton Gymnasium. FA Junior High teams will start play with the White Team at 4 p.m. and the Blue Team at 5 p.m.
After the home match, the varsity squad will travel to participate in the Conroe Covenant Tournament this weekend.
“We are not where we want to be but it is early. The goal is to continue to get better and to come together as a team over the course of the season,” McLain said.
For their performances against the Lady Rams the FA Athletes of the Week are sophomore Regan Woodley and senior Destiny Interiano.
