Truck Driver Responsibilities

As a Truck Driver with WCTractor, you will be responsible for managing the transport of construction and ag equipment between locations. Primary duties include loading and properly securing equipment, safely transporting equipment between locations, and communicating with WCTractor team members and customers on a regular basis. This is a home daily position. Vehicles to be driven range from 3/4 Ton trucks up to 18 Wheelers.

Truck Driver Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment
• Transport tractors and equipment over the road to and from stores and customer locations
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log appropriate work/rest periods and miles spent driving.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations in a timely manner

Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Trucking school diploma
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Willing to submit to DOT regulations and requirements
• Valid Class A CDL license in good standing

Working Conditions
• Work normally performed in a vehicle, shop or outdoor setting. May be required to work overtime, and on weekends
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace
• Must maintain a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and all certification requirements for operating material handling equipment as necessary
• May require ability to travel

Physical Requirements
• Must continually be able to lift and handle heavy loads up to 70-100 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
• Must have good eyesight (correctable to 20/20) and normal hearing for safety requirements and troubleshooting equipment
• Requires sufficient visual acuity/dexterity/coordination to safely and efficiently operate machinery
• Must be able to tolerate temperature shifts inherent to a outside environment
• The position may require walking, standing, stooping and transporting materials or parts on a regular basis, up to OSHA limits
