Full job description

· Primary Duty: Working independently and with teams to process production metal plate and tube parts through the stages of production in fabrication/ manufacturing facility. Stages include, unloading raw cut parts from plate/ tube laser, part organization and inventory, part preparation and deburring, weld finish blending, packaging parts/ assemblies in preparation for delivery or transportation to finishing.

- Be able to follow written and verbal instructions

- Ensure repeatable results in production meet designated specification

- Be familiar with the use of all tools and equipment necessary, including general power and pneumatic tools used in metal and wood fabrication.

- knowledge to read part and assembly prints, and accurate measurements.

- Knowledge of metric and imperial measurements.

· This position will be involved in many stages of production from raw material through packaging of unfinished parts and assembly for customer delivery or delivery for secondary processing.

- Training will be provided to employee to acclimate into the working environment and convey general best practices with tool use, maintenance, storage and safe handling.

· Repeatable results

- Follow instructions and utilize Quality Control devices and procedures to ensure the final products have consistency in their assembly.

· Familiarization with Tools and Equipment

- Attend all in person and on-line training necessary to safely and effectively use the tools provided.

- Shadow a more experienced technician or see the lead welder or production manager for instruction.

- Read the manufacturer’s manual.

- Read part and assembly prints to assist with the assembly of the product; also know naming conventions used, symbols used, internal company standards, and tolerances.

· The company is in a rapid growth phase and will expand the number of products and staff over the next 6-12 months. Ability to become comfortable with various customer assemblies, to be a diverse technician will be crucial to individual growth.

· Provide insight to help improve efficiency and the speed of production in order to match the customer's demand.

Summary
As a Shop Hand, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, contributing to the assembly process in our factory. With core skills in factory operations, mechanical knowledge, and assembly line work, you will assist in the manufacturing of our products. Your premium skill in operating a forklift will be valuable in moving materials efficiently. Additionally, your relevant skills in using hand tools, warehouse experience, and power tools will support your day-to-day tasks. Join our team and be a key player in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.

Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work on an assembly line
- Forklift operation skills
- Previous experience in a factory setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow assembly instructions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental Pay:

  • Overtime pay

Experience:

  • Fabrication: 1 year (Preferred)
