Description

Primary Purpose:
Provide support for the efficient operation of the College and Career Center.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to present information in one-on-one, small group to students, parents, and district staff
Knowledge of state accountability and CCMR district goals
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, maintain databases, word processing and web page maintenance
Proficient keyboarding skills
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to operate multi-line phone system

 
Experience:
One year experience in related field
 
Salary Information:
Pay scale:  H2 ($14.10/hr - $19.08/hr)
Days:  197
Wage Status:  Non-Exempt

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Assessment

 

  1. Proctor, schedule and track TSI testing.

  2. Interpret standardized test results and assessment data to guide students in individual goal setting and planning.

  3. Assist in test preparation for TSI, ACT, SAT and industry certifications

 

Program Management and Administration

 

  1. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents.

  2. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations

 

Records, Reports and Correspondence

 

  1. Provide general clerical support including word processing, data entry, filing and file maintenance

  2. Assist in completing college applications, financial assistance forms (FAFSA) 

  3. Schedule students to meet with military and college recruiters

  4. Coordinate scholarship applications with counseling office

  5. Maintain complete and accurate student records including test scores for TSI, SAT, ACT and ASVAB

  6. Coordinate job placement opportunities for students and maintain current job board

 

Reception and Phones

 

  1. Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.

  2. Greet and direct department visitors. Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes.

  3. Receive, sort, and distribute department mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.

 

Other

 

  1. Provide clerical assistance as needed including assisting with the scheduling of appointments.

  2. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

  3. Maintain confidentiality.

  4. Receive, distribute and ensure security and confidentiality of testing materials

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

None.

Tools/Equipment Used: Multi-line phone system; standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
