POSITION TITLE: Payroll Practitioner

LOCATION: Brenham, Texas (on site)

SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This is an entry level position geared towards the areas of payroll, human resources, and benefits.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with the Payroll Supervisor on all functions of payroll
• Work with risk management concerning accident and workers compensation issues
• Onboarding of new employees and entering employee information
• Benefits enrollment
• Maintain and update personnel records
• Assist in resolving payroll issues as may arise during payroll processing preparations
• Plans, schedules and conducts employee required screenings
• Communicate and coordinate with other company locations for documentation requests
• Assist with project work for human resources as projects are identified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
• Relative working experience with teams and familiarity with human resources
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
