Description

DUTIES: Lifeguards will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by
preventing and responding to emergencies. These positions will monitor the activities at
the City’s public swimming pool, maintain order and safe conditions, and will perform
general cleaning in and around the pool area and bathhouse. No lifeguard is guaranteed any
certain number of hours of work and the supervisor shall assign all work assignments at
her sole discretion. All lifeguards requesting time off shall do so as early as possible. Due
to scheduling a sufficient number of lifeguards to safely operate the pool, time off requests
may not be honored. This position is part-time and temporary, and all lifeguard
employment ends when the swimming pool closes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum age 15 for Lifeguards.
• Must possess current Lifeguard Training, CPR and AED certification; or must be
able to attend class on May 11 & 12, 2024 to complete certification. Cost of
certifications will be reimbursed for applicants hired if the employee works until
the closure of the pool season.
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and random drug
screening.
