Description
Build hands-on manufacturing safety experience through Valmont’s paid, hourly EHS internship in Brenham, beginning spring 2027. Designed for a senior completing the final semester of an undergraduate program, this role supports EHS programs and continuous improvement alongside site leadership and manufacturing teams.
What you'll do
- Support EHS inspections, audits, hazard assessments, job safety analyses, incident investigations, corrective actions, and environmental compliance activities.
- Partner with manufacturing employees and operations teams to identify risks, improve safety performance, and promote continuous improvement.
- Use EHS management systems to track and analyze incidents, near misses, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with employee training, toolbox talks, safety communications, engagement activities, and sharing lessons learned.
- Complete a semester-long EHS improvement project and present recommendations to site leadership.
What you'll bring
- Senior pursuing a bachelor’s in Safety Sciences, EHS, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Graduation expected at the end of the internship; minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Available to work onsite and support manufacturing operations; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and attention to detail; willing to learn and work independently across organizational levels.
- Relevant EHS coursework or experience, hands-on work experience, and OSHA 10/30 or First Aid/CPR/AED training are preferred.
- Familiarity with EHS management systems and continuous improvement practices is preferred.
