Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and quality inspection will ensure the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and program CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, utilizing G-code and M-code programming languages.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to produce precise components.
- Conduct machine setups, including tooling selection, calibration, and measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform quality inspections on machined parts through measurement and visual checks to ensure compliance with specifications and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results for quality control purposes.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform manual machining or adjustments as needed to meet production standards.
- Follow safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for toolpath generation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately; understanding of GD&T is essential.
- Experience operating machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, boring gauges, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement devices.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and perform machine setup for CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
