Industry Scouts Troop & Pack 299 Celebrating 75 Years of Scouting

Industry Scouts Troop and Pack 299 are inviting former and current Scouts, families and community members to help celebrate 75 years of Scouting in Industry, Texas, on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026.

For generations, Scouting has provided young people with opportunities to develop leadership skills, confidence, responsibility and a commitment to serving others. Through outdoor activities, community service, advancement programs and hands-on learning, Scouts are encouraged to challenge themselves, learn new skills and become active members of their communities.

Scouting has also long emphasized preparedness, citizenship and service. From camping and outdoor adventures to earning badges and participating in community projects, the program gives young people opportunities to learn by doing. Many of the lessons learned through Scouting — teamwork, perseverance, problem-solving and helping others — continue well beyond a Scout’s years in the program.

Troop and Pack 299 have been part of that tradition in the Industry community for 75 years. The anniversary celebration will recognize the generations of Scouts, leaders, volunteers, parents and community supporters who have helped keep Scouting active in Industry throughout the decades.

The celebration will be held at Industry Fireman’s Hall, 16552 Fordtran Blvd., Industry, TX 78944. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the anniversary program at 1 p.m.

At 2:30 p.m., the celebration will continue with a Pinewood Derby, and attendees are encouraged to bring their Derby cars. The longtime Scouting tradition gives participants a chance to race the small wooden cars they have designed and built — and perhaps settle a few decades-old rivalries along the way.

Lunch for the celebration is sponsored by Huntington Bank. The Industry Volunteer Fire Department serves as the charter organization for Industry Troop and Pack 299.

The 75th anniversary offers the Industry community an opportunity to celebrate not only the history of Troop and Pack 299, but also the many young people and volunteers who have been part of its Scouting tradition over the years.
