Sealy ISD and the Sealy Education Foundation recognized Hailiang Copper Texas Inc. during a special presentation celebrating the company’s generous $500,000 donation to the district.
The contribution has been designated to fund a new scoreboard and digital message center at T.J. Mills Stadium. The new technology will enhance the game-day experience for students, families, alumni and Tiger fans while also serving as a valuable communication tool for school events and community announcements.
Hailiang Copper Texas Inc. has become an important member of the Sealy community since opening its North American manufacturing facility in the city. The company manufactures copper tubing used in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and plumbing systems and has continued to invest not only in its local operations, but also in the people and organizations that make Sealy home. The $500,000 gift reflects that ongoing commitment to supporting local students and strengthening the community.
T.J. Mills Stadium is home to the Sealy Tigers. Named for legendary Coach T.J. Mills, the stadium honors the man who led the Tigers to four of their five UIL state football championships, including an extraordinary run of four consecutive state titles from 1994 through 1997. Friday night football remains a staple of Texas culture, and in Sealy it has long brought the community together, making the stadium a place where school pride, tradition and hometown spirit are on full display.
District officials thanked Hailiang Copper Texas Inc. for its generosity and partnership, noting that the donation represents an investment in both Sealy ISD students and the community as a whole. The project is expected to benefit students, athletes and Tiger fans for years to come while continuing the tradition that has made T.J. Mills Stadium a centerpiece of Sealy.
