Austin County residents are reminded that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming November 2024 general election is fast approaching. The last day to register is Monday, October 7, 2024. To ensure that all eligible residents can cast their vote, the Austin County Elections Office urges individuals to check their registration status and make any necessary updates before the deadline. This includes updating your registration if you have moved or changed your name recently.

To register, visit the Austin County Elections Office at 804 East Wendt Street, Bellville, Texas, or access the Texas Secretary of Stateโ€™s website at www.votetexas.gov. Residents can download a voter registration form from the website, which must be completed and postmarked by Sunday, October 6, 2024.

In addition to voter registration reminders, the Austin County Elections Office is hosting a series of workshops designed to help citizens better understand how elections are prepared, managed, and conducted. These workshops will provide attendees with hands-on experiences, covering topics like voter registration, poll pad check-ins, ballot by mail voters, suspense voters, and even a mock election opportunity. Attendees will also learn about how election results are tabulated. These workshops are free and open to the public, aiming to engage and inform citizens with an interest in the election process.
