The 95th Texas FFA State Convention, held from July 10-14, 2023, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, brought together thousands of students, educators, and industry professionals. The convention showcased various events, including a concert, rodeo, keynote speakers, workshops, service projects, talent contests, and the recognition of deserving individuals. One such exceptional student, Grayson Oliver, received the prestigious Texas FFA San Antonio Stock Show Scholarship and was honored on stage at the convention.
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, a renowned organization, supports the educational aspirations of Texas students by awarding scholarships through partnerships with organizations such as 4-H, FFA, and major colleges and universities across the state. While the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo plays a significant role in funding these scholarships, they do not participate in the selection process. To be eligible, students must meet specific criteria, including being a Texas resident, graduating from a Texas high school, and attending an accredited Texas college or university.
As a recipient of the Texas FFA San Antonio Stock Show Scholarship, Grayson Oliver now becomes an integral part of the scholarship program. Scholars are required to maintain contact with the Scholarship Department each semester, providing educational updates and submitting their transcripts for review. Payments of the scholarship are contingent upon the receipt and review of these transcripts. Additionally, recipients must meet minimum GPA and hours requirements on a per-semester basis to retain their scholarship.
