Trailing 7-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Blinn rallied behind a three-run home run from Dave Wilson to close within two runs. From there, however, the Whitecaps scored three runs in the top of the sixth and seven more in the seventh to pull away for good.
Sean Monsour led the Bucs with three hits, an RBI, and a run scored, while Wilson finished with two hits, three RBIs, and a run scored while lifting his team-high batting average to a sizzling .482 (27 for 56).
Cole Smajstrla scored twice and Garrison Weiss also crossed the plate for the Bucs.
Colson Geisler started for Blinn and absorbed the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) despite hurling three no-hit innings.
The Buccaneers are now 9-20 overall with a 5-10 South Zone mark.
Blinn continues its four-game set with the Whitecaps when the series moves to Galveston for a 6 p.m. tilt on Friday.
