The San Felipe-Frydek Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) is seeking donations of materials or services to build essential training props that will help firefighters strengthen their emergency response skills. These props are designed to simulate real-life scenarios such as forcible entry, rescuing trapped firefighters, navigating confined spaces, and participating in public safety events.

Proper training is key to ensuring firefighters are prepared to respond effectively when every second counts. Hands-on practice in realistic environments allows first responders to develop muscle memory, improve decision-making under pressure, and learn to operate safely in high-risk situations. Training with these props provides firefighters with the experience they need before facing emergencies in the field. The props also serve as valuable tools during community outreach and education events. By demonstrating skills and sharing safety tips at schools and local gatherings, firefighters can connect with the public and promote fire prevention awareness.

The department is accepting donations of building materials such as wood, steel, fasteners, and other construction supplies. Services such as welding, fabrication, or engineering assistance are also greatly appreciated. Every contribution plays a role in helping the department maintain a high standard of readiness and safety. Community members and businesses interested in supporting this effort are encouraged to contact Assistant Chief Marshall Johnson for more information.

With the help of the community, the San Felipe-Frydek VFD can continue to train effectively and serve with confidence when emergencies arise.
