The fifth-ranked Blinn College women’s basketball team continued its unbeaten run in Region XIV with an 82-50 road victory over Paris Junior College on Saturday in Paris, Texas.
The Buccaneers improved to 17-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
“We played extremely well tonight,” Blinn head coach Jeff Jenkins said. “We were very unselfish and found the open man.”
The Bucs’ unselfish play led to open opportunities beyond the arc, resulting in 13 3-pointers.
Blinn was in control the entire way, building a 24-14 lead by the end of the first period. The visitors’ advantage grew to 44-26 by halftime and swelled to 65-36 heading into the fourth quarter.
Forward Tiffany Tullis and guard Hannah Humphrey, both sophomores, scored a team-best 15 points along with freshman guard Amyria Walker. Sophomore guards Crystal Smith, Skylar Barnes, and Allana Thompson chipped in 10, 8, and 7 points, respectively.
Blinn continues its region slate with a home tilt against Angelina College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
