The Lady Knights traveled to Conroe last week to face off against district rival Conroe Calvary. The Lady Eagles were looking to avenge their only loss this season to the Lady Knights.
Calvary jumped out to an early lead playing with a sense of urgency and aggression. The Lady Knights despite their slow start stayed the course and never panicked. They were able to pick up their defensive intensity which allowed them to start cutting away at Calvary’s 11 point lead. Jasmyn Trejo came off the bench to give us an offensive spark by pushing the pace and attacking on offense causing the Lady Eagles to get into foul trouble about midway through the 4th quarter. Megan Flores immediately followed suit, attacking the basket, fouling two of Calvary’s key players out, and getting to the free-throw line. Megan hit two free-throws which tied the game and sent it to overtime. Heading into overtime the Lady Knights had gained the momentum. They were able to grab an early lead and hang on for a 33-31 victory. This victory improves the Lady Knights record to 5-0 and more importantly gives them the title of District Champions.
