On August 17th, the Faith Academy Cross Country team began their 2024 campaign at the Rice Raider 5000 Invitational, competing against 10 teams from surrounding counties.
The Varsity Boys 5K event saw 52 athletes spring into action, racing around the campus perimeter before a final dash down the 100-meter stadium track. Sealy’s Gavin Almaguer clinched first place with a noteworthy time of 16:12. Faith Academy’s own Ethan Stegent, a junior, secured 10th place with a time of 17:41.

 

In the JV Girls Division, junior Daniella Skardenni of Faith Academy showcased her skills among 32 competitors, finishing fourth with a time of 15:56. Her teammate, Jocelyn Eckermann, also a junior and a first-time participant, finished 19th with a time of 19:10.
The JH Boys race featured an impressive performance by 7th grader Everett Miglicco, who finished fourth with a time of 14:44.
Looking ahead, the Knights are set to compete next Saturday, August 24, at the Brazos High School Meet in Wallis.
