Dates and locations for Blinn College baseball’s final regular-season series have been changed.
The 14th-ranked Buccaneers are set to begin their series with Region XIV South foe Alvin Community College on Monday, April 29, after each game of the four-game set was moved up one day to allow for more rest ahead of the Region XIV postseason tournaments.
Monday’s game was originally scheduled to be played in Alvin, Texas, but has instead been moved to 6 p.m. at Leroy Dreyer Field in Brenham, Texas. The series will continue with a 6 p.m. ballgame on Wednesday, May 1, in Brenham, before concluding with a doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday, May 3, in Alvin.
Blinn outscored the Dolphins 31-9 during a three-game sweep between March 27-29.
The Bucs are in first place in the Region XIV South with San Jacinto College-North two games behind them in second. If Blinn clinches the top spot in the South, it will host the Region XIV South Regional tournament for a second consecutive season. San Jacinto-North will face Coastal Bend College in a four-game series this week to end its regular season.
The Bucs will claim the South crown by either matching results with San Jacinto-South, or by winning at least three of its games against Alvin.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 47 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
