Texas A&M AgriLife Research Study May Lead To Novel Obesity Treatment
Researchers from Texas A&M AgriLife Research have made a groundbreaking discovery related to obesity and its associated diseases. Their study, published in Molecular Metabolism, reveals the role of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) in macrophages, a major immune cell type, and its significant increase during obesity. By selectively shutting down GHSR activity in macrophages, the team reduced chronic inflammation and insulin resistance caused by obesity, potentially opening the door to novel treatments for obesity-related health issues.
