Castillo, a sophomore infielder from Richmond, Texas, was named to All-South Conference first team. Castillo played in all 51 of Blinn’s games this season and hit 3.40 with seven home runs and a team-high 54 RBIS. She also smacked 14 doubles, two triples, and scored 31 runs.
Talbot, a sophomore from Beaumont, Texas, was also a first-team honoree. The outfielder paced the Buccaneers with a .435 batting average and reached base at a clip of 45%. She also led her team with 51 runs scored and 32 stolen bases.
Both Wallace and Whitley were recognized as second-team outfield selections.
Wallace, from Flower Mound, Texas, ended her season hitting .341 with four home runs, 10 doubles, and two triples, 24 RBI and 33 runs scored. Whitley, of West Columbia, Texas, finished second behind Talbot with a .376 average and drove in 23 runs to go with 32 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, and six doubles.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
