HILLSBORO, Texas – Blinn College volleyball played aggressively on the road but it wasn’t enough as Hill College came away with a 3-0 victory Thursday night by the score 25-14, 25-16 and 25-23.
With the loss, the Buccaneers fall to 17-19 overall and stay 6-4 in Region XIV Tournament. Blinn had an efficiency problem as it only hit for a .048 percentage.
Alexis Kingston led Blinn with seven kills and had nine digs. Danusia Sipa Borgeaud earned five kills and had seven digs. Shayla Eugene led the Buccaneers with 10 digs while Ally Lanik dished out 19 assists.
Blinn started out the match a little rough and only scored 14 points in the opening set. The Buccaneers played a little bit better in the second set but still lost 25-16.
Blinn put together its best set in the third and came close to winning it but Hill was able to sneak out a 25-23 victory to claim the sweep.
Blinn will close out the regular season with a home match against Trinity Valley Community College on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
