The Blinn College men’s basketball team dropped a 73-52 decision to Panola College in Region XIV action Saturday in Carthage, Texas.
The Buccaneers are now 7-7 overall and 1-3 in regional play.
“Panola came out and played extremely well and got after us defensively,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “They put us in a hole early and we were never able to dig out of it, so credit Panola for the game they played against us.”
Panola held a 44-28 halftime lead.
Sophomore wing Calvin Carpenter was the lone Buccaneer scorer to reach double figures and tallied 15 points.
The Buccaneers will face the Houston Gladiators in non-conference action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, to wrap up the first half of their season. Blinn will then enter the holiday break before resuming its season against conference rival Tyler Junior College on Monday, Jan. 3.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
