The Buccaneers trailed just 31-30 at the half, but the Roadrunners pulled away down the stretch.

“In the second half, Angelina just kind of blitzed us and played really well,” Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. “On top of that, we just couldn’t make a basket.”

Sophomore wing Connor Raines paced the Bucs with 16 points.

With the loss, Blinn dropped to 16-14 overall and 9-10 in conference play.

Next up for Blinn is the Region XIV Tournament. Seeding and matchups will be determined Sunday. Visit Buccaneersports.com for schedule updates.

“I told our guys in the locker room after the game that the loss to Angelina is behind us now,” Schumacher said. “It’s time for the region tournament and everybody is 0-0, so we’ve got to go play.”

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
