The Buccaneers battled Hutchinson Community College in an NJCAA Esports tilt and earned a 3-2 victory in a best-of-five series.
Blinn later fell to Irvine Valley College 3-0 in a National Association of Collegiate Esports Varsity Premier (NACE) matchup.
Against Hutchinson, Blinn assistant coach Ryan Lucich said each of his four competitors “stepped up and shined” throughout the series.
David Rodriguez came up clutch with a strong performance in the final map to give us the win,” Lucich said. “The team was very excited to pull out the win after a rough series of games the last few weeks.”
Blinn is now 2-2 in NJCAAE play this season.
The loss to Irvine Valley dropped the Bucs to 2-3 in NACE competition.
Competing alongside Rodriguez were Landon Campos, Jake Marsh and Mathew Lui.
The Buccaneer Call of Duty squad will battle Tallahassee Community College in an NJCAAE bout at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 6.
