Blinn on Saturday swept past Dallas College-Cedar Valley 25-12, 25-4, 25-12 in the CenTex Invitational tournament in Temple, running its win streak to 14 matches. The Bucs have won their last nine matches by 3-0 scores.
Blinn (15-1), ranked third in the nation, had been scheduled to play Texas Christian College Saturday afternoon, but Texas Christian pulled out of the tournament.
“The girls played really well this weekend,” said head coach Terry Gamble. “I’m happy with how hard we’re working.”
Jayde Shelton has eight kills and five block assists to lead Blinn. Ashley Taylor and Reagan Casey added six and five kills, respectively. Casey also had two solo blocks and three block assists. Lixai Velez led Blinn with eight digs. The Bucs’ Lina Ellila had 14 assists to lead the team.
Blinn hosts 16th-ranked Trinity Valley Community College in a conference game Wednesday a 6 p.m. at the Kruse Center.
