The Buccaneers are in first place in the East 1 Conference.
“Ontario put up a good fight, but at the end of the day, they were simply no match for us,” Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. “We had a couple slip ups on the defensive end, but we were able to get them fixed and put on a strong showing. We are continuing to put up a really strong showing in NACE for Overwatch, and I think we have a very solid chance of going undefeated in the regular season.”
Competing for the Bucs were Gabriel Lopez, William Bowman, Jake Langridge, Matthew Hutchings, and Nicholas Behney.
The Buccaneer Overwatch team will be in action again when it takes on Guilford Technical Community College at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24. In other esports action, Blinn’s Super Smash Bros team will be in action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, while the Bucs Valorant team will face Utica University at 6 p.m. and the Call of Duty squad will battle Westcliff University at 7:30 p.m.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
