Six Blinn College softball players earned Region XIV South Zone all-conference honors and two earned first-team all-region honors, the league announced Sunday, May 1.
Shortstop Katie Andrie and outfielder Nicole Garcia were named first-team all-region and all-conference. Pitcher Sam Junkin, infielder Jordin Wilkins and outfielders Meghann Wrinkle and Kalli Edwards earned second-team all-conference for the Buccaneers.
Andrie, who signed at Sam Houston State University earlier in the year, led Blinn in batting average (.431) and hits (81) while hitting eight home runs and driving in 43 RBIs.
Garcia consistently batted leadoff for the Buccaneers and hit .404 with 40 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.
Junkin led Blinn in innings pitched (147) and maintained a 3.10 earned run average while finishing the season with an 18-4 record and three saves. Wilkins led the Buccaneers in home runs (12) and RBIs (50) while hitting for a .313 average.
Wrinkle, who signed at Tarleton State University, was second on the team with nine home runs. She finished the season with 45 RBIs while maintaining a .383 average. Edwards held the third-best batting average on the team (.354) with 52 hits and 17 stolen bases.
Blinn finished with a 37-18 overall record and 20-4 in the Region XIV South Zone standings. The Buccaneers finished fourth in the Region XIV tournament.
