The hosts erupted for a 35-0 lead in the first quarter and nine different players accounted for Buccaneer touchdowns during the win as Blinn improved to 2-0 on the season.
Blinn has outscored its opponents 131-0 through two games this season and head coach Ryan Mahon has been able to deploy most of his roster in the process.
“We’ve recruited well, and we’ve recruited the right guys, because when you start moving down the depth chart and you’re not missing much on the field, that’s a big thing to have in football,” Mahon said. “The fact that so many of our guys have already seen the field and have gotten some valuable game reps, it’s going to pay off in the long run.”
Freshman quarterback Brock Bolfing got the night started with a 40-yard touchdown pass to second-year wide receiver and Montgomery High School teammate Trey Harden.
Later in the first quarter, sophomore running back JJ Branham trotted into the end zone from 27 yards out. Sophomore receiver Canen Adrian flashed his speed on a 12-yard end around before freshman tailback Willie Eldridge closed out the first-quarter scoring with scoring runs of 19 and 11 yards.
In the second period, Branham added a 6-yard TD before sophomore running back Jalen Spicer broke through for a 22-yard scamper.
Then, on his birthday, freshman quarterback relieved Bolfing and celebrated with a 27-yard keeper. Harvey added a 25-yard scoring strike to Adrian.
“Coach Mahon and our entire coaching staff prepared us well for tonight,” Harvey said. “We all just came out here and executed, and for me especially, I’m always prepared for when my name is called and for that opportunity to just go out and play my brand of football and have fun with it.”
Sophomore tailback Terrance Keyes added a late touchdown from 36 yards out after shedding a couple of would-be tacklers, and sophomore halfback Ricky Madison ended the night with a 7-yard TD.

Defensively, Blinn kept Rezolution Prep contained all night, forcing several punts from deep within the visitors’ own territory. A highlight of the Bucs’ smothering defensive effort was sophomore defensive back Daniel Onwuachi, who now has three interceptions following a two-pick night Saturday.
“All we’re trying to do out here is fulfill our jobs and execute the way we’re coached to,” Onwuachi said. “When we take care of the things we’re given during practice, it pays off like this during games. We’re working as a team and the starters are doing their jobs, but when our second- and third-string guys get on the field, they’re picking up where we left off and contributing. We’re going to continue to grow each and every week and we’re going to see where that takes us.”
Blinn returns to the field for its Southwest Junior College Football Conference opener against Cisco College at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Cub Stadium.
“Our conference is always tough, every year,” Mahon said. “These games these first couple of weeks set us up, they give us good confidence, and let us know we can execute, but now here we go. It’s time to bring our A game and that’s what we’ve been set up to do.”
