The Blinn College – Sealy campus invites prospective and current students to apply for up to $8,000 in scholarships.
The Ryan Ford and Ryan Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge scholarships, each valued at $2,000, will be awarded to one student annually. The Boots & Blue Jeans Scholarship will award up to $4,000 to dual credit students or students attending the Sealy campus.
Blinn will host its third annual Boots & Blue Jeans for Blinn fundraiser benefitting the Boots & Blue Jeans Scholarship from 6-11 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the Knights of Columbus Hall (1390 U.S. Highway 90). Tickets are available at the Blinn-Sealy campus (3701 Outlet Center Dr.) and online at foundation.blinn.edu.
Scholarship recipients will be chosen based upon their application, letter of recommendation and an interview. The letter of recommendation must not be from a relative, and preference will be given to students who do not qualify for federal financial aid.
“The goal is to give the scholarship to individuals who don’t qualify for financial aid who sometimes fall through the cracks,” said Lisa Caton, Sealy campus director. “We can still help those students who typically have to pay for their own schooling and work at the same time.”
Applications are available at www.blinn.edu/sealy/Sealy-Scholarship-Application-2016.pdf and the Sealy campus at 3701 Outlet Center Drive. The deadline to complete the applications is April 30.
