The Buccaneers won the best-of-five series 3-0 to remain in a first-place tie in Group 1. Blinn won the three matches 2-0, 6-0, and 4-3. The Bucs are now 2-0 overall this season.
“Todays’ match was another good win for our Rocket League team and was led by Andrew Askins, who put on a dominating performance,” Blinn assistant coach Kyle Murto said. “We shut out or opponent in two of the three matches and performed well on both sides of the ball tonight.”
Along with Askins, Vince Purcell and Jake Tinsman also competed for the Bucs.
Next up, Blinn will take on Ontario Tech University in Overwatch play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 42 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
