The Buccaneers racked up 30 shots, including 16 on target, and six different players found the goal to help Blinn improve to 7-3-1 on the year. The Bucs also jumped to 3-3 in region matches.
“The lads worked very hard this evening,” Blinn head coach Michael McBride said. “It was a good performance and an important victory for us.”
The win gave the Buccaneers three points, which has them in a tie for third place (with Iowa Lakes Community College) in total points (127) in NJCAA Division I. Blinn is also tied with Iowa Lakes in two other categories, as the two teams each lead the nation with 53 assists and are both eighth with 37 goals scored.

On Wednesday, Blinn got a pair of goals from freshman forward David Garcia and two more from sophomore forward Kamille Kum, while freshmen Flynn Toon, Bryson Colton and Joseph Ray, as well as sophomore William Spellman also tacked on scores.
Garcia opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a diving header off assists from sophomore defenders Crispin Tshimanga and Peyton Robinson.
Kum made it 2-0 on an assist from second-year midfielder Felix Mesquita in the 26th minute.
In the 32nd minute, Trinity Valley scored to make it a 2-1 game.
Later, in the 41st minute, Kum was fouled inside the box and subsequently scored on a penalty kick.
After the half, Garcia netted his second goal when he took an assist from freshmen Jay Hernandez and Joshua Hernandez-Gutierrez and turned it into a 4-1 edge.
Toon scored off a corner kick from Mesquita in the 60th minute; Spellman found the goal on a feed from Tshimanga; Colton scored on Tshimanga’s third assist of the match; and Joe Loughnane fed Ray for a goal to cap the scoring in the 72nd minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Pena was in goal for the Bucs and earned his sixth victory of the season.
Blinn hits the road for a region match against Coastal Bend College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Beeville, Texas.
