CLARENDON, Texas — Blinn College volleyball (12-5, 1-0) went undefeated in the Clarendon Classic after defeating Clarendon College, 3-1 (25-7, 28-26, 16-25, 25-14), Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Buccaneers went 2-0 in the tournament. Shelby Sheets led the offense with 23 kills and seven digs. Taylor Henderson followed with eight kills and seven blocks. Roxanne Morris led Blinn with 19 assists and eight digs.
Blinn jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match after winning the first sets 25-7 and 28-26. The Buccaneers dropped the third set to Clarendon, 25-16, but bounced back with a 25-14 win in the fourth set to take the victory.
The Buccaneers will resume conference play on the road against Lee College on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.
Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 38 NJCAA national championships since 1987.
