The Blinn College women’s soccer team shut out Trinity Valley Community College 18-0 Saturday in its first conference road game of the season.
Blinn scored 12 first-half goals and added six more in the second half to move to 1-1 in conference and 1-2 on the season. The Bucs lost their conference opener 2-0 last Wednesday to No. 1-ranked Tyler Junior College.
“Today was a good day for our team to gain some confidence,” assistant coach Alexandria Jackson said. “We were glad to see multiple players get on the score sheet. We hope this win will give us some momentum for the next couple of conference games. It’s going to be a race to the finish to see who will make the playoffs this year.”
Goal scorers for Blinn included Lexington Kneedler, Victoria Cantu, Alexah Alvineda, Rosie Young, Olivia Bibbins, Dejah Marsh, Mercy Breazeale, and Jada Jelks.
Blinn hosts Jacksonville College in another Region XIV Conference game Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Rankin Field.
